Calling all women living or working in agriculture in Scotland

Posted on Updated on

agricultureThe Scottish Government has commissioned research to build a picture of the role women play in agriculture across Scotland. Research undertaken in other parts of the UK, Europe and beyond shows that women’s work on farms is under-reported and women are not well represented in agricultural organisations, but there has been no research in Scotland. They invite women who live or work on farms/crofts to complete the survey. Findings will help to inform the development of government policy interventions. All responses will be strictly confidential. The survey is available here.

ALISS – A Local Information System for Scotland

Posted on Updated on

ALISS is an easy search and collaboration tool for health and wellbeing resources in Scotland. ALISSIt helps signpost people to useful community support – and with an ALISS account you can also contribute the many and varied resources that our local communities have to offer. Communities in Scotland contain a wealth of resources that can support our health and wellbeing, yet it is often difficult to find information about what is available in our local area. ALISS aims to make information about networks, public services and communities in Scotland – as well as local sources of support – more findable. Communities can also contribute to ALISS with any resources they have to offer eg. places, groups, activities, opportunities, events and services. Everyone is welcome to search and use the information in ALISS – why not try a search at www.aliss.org and request an account to add something to it? The more local groups that use ALISS to add resources, the better it will become – so give it a go!
