Dear Editorial Team I would like to invite our local Councillors and community council to respond to the letter from Mr Reg Pringle in the Mearns Leader about mental health in Stonehaven. Could the Diced Cap grant funding be approached to help Stonehaven residents affected by the closure of Pillar get a portacabin for Men shed as our male members may not have an affordable venue after Xmas. Could the old sheriff court spare space ? Support and empowering in the journey of recovery and staying well fits in so well with the kings fund garden blog and community capacity building in the last few blogs it is amazing.Let us join in making Stonehaven a stronger community even more inclusive .
A Pillar member wondering about the future.

Hello,
Thank you so much for your comment. Our apologies that we haven’t replied sooner. Somehow the comment slipped our radar.
The Local Community Plan for Kincardine & Mearns has creating inclusive community spaces and opportunities as a priority for the area and we are all certainly putting efforts into this and welcome any input.
I am aware that my colleague in the Area Manager’s Team at the Council is adding her efforts towards looking for a possible location for the Mens Shed project. I believe it is location more so than funding that is the issue at the moment. I understand that Stonehaven Town Partnership are still waiting for a response from the Scottish Court Service about the community transfer of the old court building.
We will pass your comment onto Councillors and the Community Council and imagine that they agree with your views.
