Your Voice Your Choice Kincardine & Mearns
Community Planning in Kincardine & Mearns and partners have been delighted to hear lots of great ideas for this project to date. Not-for-profit groups in Inverbervie, Gourdon, Benholm, Johnsh
aven and St Cyrus are invited to bid for up to £10k from a total pot of £30k to improve health, wellbeing and community links. Community members decide which groups receive the funding at ‘The Big Event’ which will be held on 24 June. The deadline for applications is 26 May, so there is just a fortnight left to get your bids in! Your Voice Your Choice Drop-in Sessions
The Participatory Budgeting initiative is aimed at improving health, wellbeing and community connectedness in the Mearns coastal villages of Inverbervie, Gourdon, Johnshaven, Benholm and St Cyrus. Groups and individuals interested in applying for a share of the £30k funding are warmly invited to come along to informal drop-in sessions to find out more. These will run from 10am – 1pm then 7pm -9pm as follows:
Monday 8th May – St Cyrus Hall
Tuesday 9th May – Harbour Bar, Gourdon

Village of the Year
This summer Penelope Keith and her team of judges will be visiting villages across the UK to determine a winner, with a £10,000 prize for the village up for grabs. Scotland’s Winter Festivals event fund.
EventScotland, on behalf of Scottish Government, invites creative proposals to deliver enhanced activity that will reinforce and increase celebration and promotion of St Andrew’s Day, Hogmanay or Burns Night. There is a total fund of £390,000 available to support a range of events with a wide geographic spread across the three national days. There are also key opportunities to align to the Themed Years: 2017 is the Year of History, Heritage and Archaeology; 2018 is the Year of Young People. For events taking place between November 2017 – January 2018 the application deadline is 5pm Friday 12 May.
