Oil Clubs

Posted on Updated on

No not the big one on North Deeside Road – If you are concerned about the price of heating oil in your community, this may be for you. Many heating oil companies now promote ‘oil clubs’ where a community contact co-ordinates the deliveries. By delivering to many homes in one area on one run the company saves and will pass on the savings to customers.

If you think this a good idea get in touch with Jean Henretty ; jhenretty@kincardineshiredp.org

ALISS – A Local Information System for Scotland

Posted on Updated on

Communities in Scotland contain a wealth of resources that can support our health and well being, yet it is often difficult to find information about what is available in our local area.ALISS

ALISS helps to signpost people to community resources and enables communities to contribute information about the resources they have to offer e.g. places, groups, activities, opportunities, events, services.

You can use ALISS to:

  • Collect – identify and gather information about local resources
  • Manage – describe resources in your own words, and create an ALISS collection that is specific to you or your organisation
  • Share – use ALISS collections to enhance your existing information service and provide a richer picture of what support is available in your community
  • Get Started – everyone can search and use the information in ALISS

Your Health and Social Care Services – We want Your Views

Health and social care services across Aberdeenshire are changing. We aim to make them:

  • Better connected – one single united health and social care service.
  • More responsive – to your needs and the needs of your family
  • More local – linked up with the community and voluntary groups that benefit the health and wellbeing of your locality

We are writing a plan for the future of health and social care services in Aberdeenshire.

The plan is based on what you told us should be available in your locality. It describes how we will work together to improve the health of local people and to provide the right services for people who are ill or who rely on social care.

Have we got it right for you, your family and your locality?

Local charities invited to get online and talk funding with Lloyds TSB Foundation for Scotland

Posted on Updated on

Lloyds Foundation

Charities working in communities across Scotland are invited to have an online chat about funding opportunities with Lloyds TSB Foundation for Scotland.

Every month, the grant maker hosts advice surgeries using online face to face
technology. Charities with a Skype account or Google Hangout are invited to book an appointment at
any of the 10 monthly surgeries between March and December. The Foundation is particularly keen
to hear from grassroots charities which benefit disadvantaged people and who need funding to continue
their work. Unlike many other funders, the Foundation’s Henry Duncan Awards programme will
contribute towards staff and running costs, as well as new projects and services. And charities which have had a grant before can also apply again. The advice
surgery gives charities the chance to find out if they meet the funding criteria and to get tips
on how to fill in the application form.

Online advice surgeries will be held on 5th August, 2nd September, 7th October,
4th November, 2nd December. Appointments last 45 minutes and can be booked by calling
0131 444 4020 or emailing enquiries@ltsbfoundationforscotland.org.uk
