Only one day of training is necessary but information will be provided to support development of local walks in Kincardine and Mearns for walk leaders attending the training through Paths for All and through local contacts.
A Health Walk is a short, local, low level walk which seeks to encourage and support people to become more active. A typical health walk usually lasts between 10 minutes and 1 hour.

The Aberdeenshire Signposting Project is a client support project operating throughout Aberdeenshire.
The project provides support to clients suffering from (or at risk of developing) mild to moderate mental health problems as well as working with older, isolated people.
The Project works throughout Aberdeenshire to provide a responsive service working to ensure that clients are directed to and assisted in making contact with relevant organisations, agencies and services. The ability to work effectively with clients experiencing distress and difficulty is key to the role.
The successful candidates will primarily work throughout North Aberdeenshire (Post 1) and Central and South Aberdeenshire (Post 2), but will work elsewhere in Aberdeenshire as required according to the needs of the Project.
Candidates must display a proven track record of working with vulnerable clients, managing caseloads and will particularly demonstrate a good understanding of the issues faced by older people in identifying and accessing support and services as well as an understanding of the causes and impacts of social isolation.
Good case management, communication, organisational and IT skills are essential as is the ability to work as part of a team and to work to deadlines, often under pressure.
The North post will be primarily home based, the Central/ South post office based, both with travel throughout Aberdeenshire and regular meetings in the Project offices.
Applications for both posts from applicants seeking 36 hours per week will be considered
To meet operational requirements core hours will be set to be worked Tuesday – Friday

Help Keep Our Beaches Clean
KIMOUK have launched a new video to help promote Pick Up 3 Pieces, an initiative aimed at encouraging people to pick up 3 pieces of marine litter every time they visit their local beach. If everyone did this once a month, together we could remove over 55 million pieces of litter from Scottish beaches each year. For more information about why marine litter is so important, view their YouTube video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e6QhIL3ktYE or visit: www.pickup3.org.uk
