This week is volunteers week and the Volunteer Centre Aberdeenshire are having a display in Stonehaven library where you can get advice on all aspects of volunteering and information on local volunteering opportunities. In 2012 our Accredited ASDAN Business Enterprise Group came up with a business plan to make and sell soaps in our service and offer them to our local community.
The group work as a team with each member having specific jobs to do, and these include researching, marketing, promoting, recording the incomes and outgoings as well as making the actual soaps themselves. Read the rest of this entry »

Stonehaven and District Community Council was disbanded at the AGM in April after 10 members left. Efforts are being made to re-establish it, led by Willie Munro, Aberdeenshire Council Area Manager.
The way forward is to have an election which requires 20 people to put themselves forward.
Being on the Community Council does not have to involve hours of work and it is an important part of the community. Participation is rewarding and appreciated.

The Aberdeenshire Signposting Project is a client support service covering the Aberdeenshire area. The project works with clients to find sources of help and support with the issues in their lives causing them concern.
