Following the publication of a research report on emergency food aid in Scotland (www.foodaidscotland.org), the Poverty Alliance is running a series of regional workshop events for those involved in delivering emergency food aid in Scotland. The aim is to provide opportunities for networking, peer support and learning, and to connect with wider anti-poverty work and campaigns.
Our first session held in Glasgow on 30th April was oversubscribed and feedback from attendees highlights the quality of discussion, learning and new contacts which were made. A briefing note on the session will be published on our website soon.
The third of these sessions will be:
Thursday 27th August
1.30pm to 4.30pm
St Nicholas Room, Civic Rooms, Town House,
Aberdeen, AB10 1FY
The session will likely include presentations from invited speakers and group work discussion on the following themes:
– Working with advice and support services
– Sanctions and the Scottish Welfare Fund
– Stigma and challenging public attitudes to poverty
A detailed programme will be sent out nearer the time.
