Do You Care for Someone? Would You Like Some Support? Pop Into VSA Carers Open Day Stonehaven Thursday June 12th
National Carer’s Week is this week – 9th -15th June – and with it’s focus on recognising the efforts so many people put in to supporting friends or family members, it’s a good time to ask yourself if what you do could be described as ‘caring’!
A lot of people are enabled to maintain some independence and stay in their own home through the support of someone else. That’s part of us human beings being social creatures. However, we are recognising more and more that this role can cause significant stress. Some carers are elderly or children themselves.
There are a number of organisations who are now funded to offer various types of support for carers themselves.
If you care for someone or you know someone who does, visit the VSA South Aberdeenshire Carers’ Project to find out what kind of support could be available. You’ll find newsletters and information on the Carer’s Relief Fund which may be able to help you financially.
Or even better, pop along to their open day at their premises at 52 Evan Street, Stonehaven on Thursday 12th June to talk with someone personally!
